On Friday, Motorola succeeded in obtaining a preliminary injunction against Apple. This injunction stops Apple from selling any of its devices in Germany that violate two of Motorola wireless technology patents.

It was a default judgement made in favor of Motorola at a district court in Mannheim, Germany as Apple failed to appear in court, confirmed a spokesman at Landgericht Mannheim PCMag reported.

The order did not mentioned specific products, however, the order definitely will effect iPhone and iPad. In case Apple fails to follow the order, which would lead to contempt of court, a fine of €250,000 will be applied.

In an email, an Apple spokesman said, “This is a procedural issue and has nothing to do with the merits of the case. It does not affect our ability to sell products or do business in Germany at this time,” as reported by PCMag.

On Monday, Vodafone Germany, displayed banners for iPhone 4S as well as iPad 2 on their website said that the order will not have much effect on their sales.

Apple has not yet declared their next legal move after this order, however, their statement makes it clear that they are not too worried about it.
